LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Helen Keller was a toddler when an illness caused her to lose her sight and hearing. She lived to be 87 years old, and among the many influences in her life, it’s likely that the Lion’s Club Pancake Festival this weekend would look very different if not for Helen Keller.
“Helen Keller came to the International Convention in 1929 and asked the Lions to be the Knights of the Blind. And so ever since then, that has been a major mission,” said Lions Member Brent Guinn.
When crowds line up Saturday for the biggest pancake breakfast of the year, the Lubbock Lion’s Club will be raising money to help a lot of non-profits in this community…
