Driver dies after car goes airborne off street onto I-70, crashes and then catches on fire

NORMANDY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – An 18-year-old Florissant man died after the car he was driving went airborne off a North County road, landed on I-70, then crashed and caught on fire.

Police say the crash happened around 1:15 p.m. Friday at Bermuda Ave and westbound I-70.

An 18-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Bermuda Ave. when the Malibu went off the road and onto westbound I-70, where it hit the median. A GMC Sierra going westbound on I-70 then hit the driver’s side of the Malibu, which caught on fire…
