A 21-year-old Wichita woman who killed her boyfriend on his birthday was sentenced Friday to 13 years and nine months in prison, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said.
In December, a jury found Amunique Schare Cavitt guilty of second-degree murder in the April 23, 2024, shooting death of 33-year-old Norman E. Carter III of Wichita.
