Winter Storm Watch for Lassen and Plumas Counties
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday evening through Wednesday evening for Lassen, Eastern Plumas, and Eastern Sierra Counties. Heavy snow is expected, with 6 to 12 inches west of Highway 395 and up to 2 feet near Highway 89. Areas such as Plumas Eureka, Graeagle, Portola, and Lake Davis may see the highest totals. Valley areas along and east of Highway 395, including Susanville, Janesville, Standish, and Doyle, could receive 2 to 6 inches of snow. Wind gusts may reach 65 mph in exposed areas.
Travel could be very difficult or impossible, especially during commutes. Lower elevations below 5000 feet will start with rain before changing to snow by Monday afternoon. Residents are advised to monitor forecasts and avoid travel if possible…
