CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – The Carson Aquatic Facility on North Roop Street will be temporarily closed from Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 27 so that new filtration equipment can be installed. All areas of the facility will be closed, including the fitness center, locker rooms, and showers due to the water being shut off, according to city staff.
The filtration equipment has reportedly exceeded its lifespan and the update will increase water quality, prolong facility usefulness, and decrease annual costs. City staff say this project is part of a larger effort to repair and replace major infrastructure needs citywide.
The front desk will remain open Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during repairs for registration for any parks and recreation programs.
