A man wanted for escaping Bucks County Custody was captured Thursday night by the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force and Deputies from the Middle District of Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, authorities announced.
Shawn Dempsey, 57 was wanted for escaping from custody at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital on January 27th. Dempsey was transported to the hospital for a medical appointment by Bucks County Corrections and signed an agreement not to leave.
Dempsey was in custody, according to online court records, for a parole violation stemming from a misdemeanor retail theft conviction in 2019. Its not the first time he’s violated his parole conditions.
Dempsey fled during his procedure and a warrant for Escape was issued by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office on January 29th.
