KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The University of Tennessee is hosting a Farragut teen who has faced two bouts of cancer for a very special weekend on campus.
13-year-old Taylor was diagnosed with leukemia at age three, reaching remission after years of treatment before the cancer returned at the age of 11. After a bone marrow transplant and months away from home, Tennessee and national nonprofit Dream On 3 welcomed her to Rocky Top for a weekend with with the spirit squads and some unique experiences at Food City Center.
The weekend began Friday with a tour of the athletics facilities and a media shoot just like a prospective student-athletes on official visits. Taylor will attend Saturday’s men’s basketball game against LSU and participate in a cheer camp with the Vols’ spirit teams, including members of the reigning UCA Division I Coed Gameday national champion cheerleading squad…
