Whether exploring near or far, we are always looking for a great breakfast. One of the best we’ve found is at Gracie’s on West Main.
Gracie’s is located in the Keystone Court, a shopping and service center in Leola, Lancaster County. Gracie’s is the street-facing business, set in a former single-family home that anchors an otherwise industrial-looking business complex.
The dining area is actually multiple semi-connected rooms with a host stand in the hallway. Each room is filled with blackboards where inspirational and amusing quotes are scrawled in red, yellow, blue and pink chalk.
Every visit to Gracie’s is an opportunity for indulgence. For me, that starts with a cup of chai. The steamed tea latte is lightly spiced and more than a little sweet. It’s a great pick-me-up to start the meal.
One of the things that has kept us coming back to Gracie’s is the bacon menu – bacon prepared eight different ways. But I never make it past the caramelized bacon.
The caramelized bacon is hickory-smoked bacon that’s cooked in brown sugar to create a crispy, candy-like coating around the outside. It’s more sweet than savory, breakfast’s answer to dessert. But it is absolutely the best thing on the menu.
