It has been just over one year since the “Ocala” gateway sign began welcoming travelers along Interstate 75.

Local motorists first spotted the completed overhead signage glowing at the 42nd Street flyover in late January 2025, the project’s general presence on the interstate began months earlier.

One year after its completion, the 42nd Street bridge signage remains a prominent landmark for the thousands of motorists who traverse the Ocala corridor daily.

The overhead installation, which began in the summer of 2024, features silhouetted imagery of horses and palm trees and was part of a broader effort to enhance the county’s visual identity.
