SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) – Six veterans, each more than 100 years old, were honored in Salem Friday during a centenarian birthday celebration recognizing their service in World War II and the Korean War, as well as the extraordinary lives they’ve lived since.
The event at the Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center brought together family members, caregivers and fellow veterans to celebrate a generation whose experiences span more than a century of history.
