MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — Our Valentine’s Day Saturday will start with patchy fog with temperatures near 50. By the afternoon we’ll see highs back in the 70s for most, however, we’ll see partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies and a breezy easterly wind. During the daytime hours, there will be a slight chance of showers. That rain chance though will increase into our Saturday evening/night as moisture surges ahead of our next weathermaker that will arrive on Saturday. Hopefully the rain holds off until our evening parades are done, but if you’re making plans, keep the umbrella handy just in case.
From overnight Saturday into Sunday we’ll be looking at a good chance for showers and thunderstorms ahead of the cold front. At this point, the best chance of wet weather looks to be Sunday morning through around midday as a line of showers and storms is expected to move from west to east across the area. Models are split on what happens after that initial wave moves through. There is a chance that most of the showers clear in time for the afternoon with only a slight chance of lingering showers while others show showers and storms continuing through mid-afternoon. We’ll hope for the first solution so we can get in our Joe Cain Day festivities. Either way, if you’re planning your day, keep the weather in mind.
Not only will there be a chance for showers and thunderstorms, but a few strong storms and heavy rain can’t be completely ruled out either…
