FSU softball looks to use first loss as learning experience against FAU

Florida State softball suffered its first defeat of the 2026 season on Thursday afternoon. The Noles led 1-0 most of the way against the No. 1 Texas Tech Red Raiders, before falling 3-2 late in the game.

FSU had its opportunities. They had the tying run on with one out and got doubled off when Texas Tech caught a ball that was literally inches from going over the fence to end the game.
