Toledo launches ‘Pothole Blitz’ to repair 7,500 road defects

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The City of Toledo will begin its annual Pothole Blitz Tuesday, with crews working to fill an estimated 7,500 potholes across the city in one week.

Scott Sparrow, who has lived on Wayne Street for over a decade, said the road conditions are problematic.

“It is terrible on both sides of the road you know, it’s just terrible you can’t go 2 steps without running into a pothole,” Sparrow said.

Crews will work 10-hour days Tuesday through Saturday using cold patches, a type of asphalt that doesn’t require heat and is ideal for emergency repairs…
