Convicted felon caught with alligator on Bourbon Street in New Orleans

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A New Roads man was arrested in New Orleans early Saturday morning after agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) allegedly caught him walking down Bourbon Street with a live alligator.

Eurell D. Johnson, 25, was arrested by LDWF agents and is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of a live alligator.

“Agents observed Johnson walking down the 400 block of Bourbon St. carrying an approximately 3-4 foot live alligator,” LDWF said in a statement on Facebook. “Agents made contact with Johnson and also found him in possession of a firearm and marijuana. Agents also learned that Johnson was a convicted felon and could not possess a firearm.”…
