Massachusetts lowers flags to half-staff to honor fallen soldier Robert R. Arnold

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert R. Arnold, 27, of Roslindale, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on February 1, 2026. Born on February 15, 1998, he was a resident of the Roslindale neighborhood in Boston.

Arnold served as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years before joining the U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was known for speaking multiple languages, including German, Russian, French, and Latin, and was a graduate of Boston Latin School, Class of 2016.

He is survived by his parents, Kellie J. Arnold and Frederick J. Rogers of Roslindale, along with nephews, cousins, and many friends and service brothers. He was predeceased by his grandparents Robert R. Arnold and Joan M.
