CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A homeowner was shot Friday morning around 1:12 a.m. after confronting two suspects attempting to steal a car from his driveway in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood.
The shooting happened on Schiller Avenue near East 39th when the homeowner, who was upstairs in bed, heard noises outside and went to investigate. Ring Security Camera captured the incident, showing the man opening his front door and yelling at the suspects before gunshots rang out.
“I was still in my underwear. I literally flew out of bed, just trying to hopefully scare them away so they don’t steal my sister’s stuff,” said Chris, the victim, who asked that his last name not be used. “As I opened the door and popped my head out, they fired — boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.”
Nine shots fired, one bullet hits victim
The suspects fired nine times at the homeowner. One bullet entered and exited Chris’s calf, nicking an artery and causing significant bleeding. The victim told 19 News the incident brought back memories of his brother, who was shot and killed in 2018…
