Serious violent felon arrested for dealing and possession of gun in Vanderburgh County, Indiana

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — An Evansville man classified as a serious violent felon was arrested Thursday after authorities seized a loaded handgun and about three-quarters of a pound of suspected methamphetamine, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release issued Friday.

Anthony Michael Stepro, 50, faces preliminary felony charges following a monthlong investigation into drug distribution, the release said.

Stepro was taken to the Vanderburgh County jail following his arrest. Online records from Vanderburgh Circuit Court showed he was placed on a 72-hour hold on Friday, without any charges being formally filed.
