LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Portland Museum in West Louisville opened a new art exhibit Friday evening, just days after a break-in left the facility with thousands of dollars in damage.
The museum welcomed guests to Dean Thomas’ new exhibit, “Residuals,” which captures forgotten objects from around Louisville. Thomas said the mundane items in his paintings take on human drama through his artistic interpretation.
“It’s very mundane subject matter. They’re just, you know, boxes and items and junk, basically. But the way he paints them, I think, gives them this real human drama,” Thomas said…
