Community discusses how to help the future of Yamacraw Village

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — On Saturday, dozens of local residents attended a summit about the future of Yamacraw Village.

The meeting was held at First African Baptist Church off Franklin Square and included a detailed history of the land and a discussion about ways to influence its future.

Yamacraw Village, a historic African American neighborhood, is scheduled to be demolished and rebuilt at some point in the future, pending approval by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)…
