Life Recovery Church provides outreach to homeless, those struggling with addiction

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Members of Life Recovery Church meet every second Saturday of the month to help people struggling in Independence and Sugar Creek.

The church provides food, clothes and personal care items to those facing homelessness or addiction. Rain did not stop their outreach efforts on Valentine’s Day.

“A lot of us here at this church are from the recovery background and so we know what it’s like to be in those situations. We’re pretty empathetic,” said the associate pastor, Johnny Burton. “So, we believe that God has a calling on each and everyone of our lives, and our calling here is to go out in the community and be a beacon of light to them.”…
