Kennedy Lee’s jumper gave the San Diego State women’s basketball team a double-digit lead they’d never relinquish, starting a dominant second quarter which powered the conference-leaders to a 78-64 win over the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday afternoon at the Lawlor Events Center.
SDSU (20-4, 14-1 Mountain West) outscored the hosts 24-7 in the second stanza, notching three 7-0 bursts. The advantage ballooned as big as 37 points with 1:25 left in the third quarter and was a 31-point lead with 5:41 to play when the reserves began to take over.
“What I’m most proud of is our ability to win on the road this year,” head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson said. “We’ve been much more consistent on the road (and) I thought we played really good basketball for about 30 minutes today, so if we can continue to grow and get that to 32, 35 and maybe 40 come March we’re going to be in a good situation.”…
