RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say one person is dead following a shooting in the Piney Woods Road area of Richland County near Broad River Road.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were dispatched to the 10 block of Culters Court off Tawny Branch Road around 1:10 p.m. to reports of a person being shot. Arriving deputies found a victim inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and began rendering aid as they awaited other first-responders.
Emergency Medical Services personnel took the victim to the hospital, where he died. Authorities said the crime scene unit has since been dispatched to the scene as the investigation continues…
