#UDTF Continues Build Toward A-10 Championships In Indianapolis And Michigan

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Dayton track and field competed at two separate meets this weekend. The sprinters, jumpers, and throwers all returned to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the Heartland Invitational, while the distance team was at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, one of the largest collegiate meets on the indoor calendar.

Highlights

  • Freshman Simone Bessong made her collegiate debut in the 400m on Friday, running the third fastest time in program history of 56.44.
  • Senior Marissa Pritchett came second in section two of the 5,000m at GVSU on Friday with a personal best time of 17:19.83.
  • Senior Raegan Ernst qualified for the final in the 60m hurdles on Friday, where she would finish seventh overall.
  • Freshman Reese Kohnle set a new personal best in the mile at GVSU, running 5:15.35.
  • Junior Mariya Washington and Freshman Autumn Price both set new personal bests in the 200m.
  • Graduate Student Elaina Panagakos set the best shot put mark of her Flyer career at 11.09m.
