Decatur City Council to vote on Beltline road traffic improvements

DECATUR, Ala. — If you spend any time behind the wheel in Decatur, you are likely familiar with the bottleneck at the intersection of Beltline Road (Highway 67) and Sandlin Road. On Monday, the Decatur City Council is expected to take a major step toward fixing it.

Council members are set to vote on Resolution No. 26-034, a professional services agreement that would jumpstart engineering and design work for the busy corridor.

The proposed project focuses on redesigning the intersection to better handle the thousands of vehicles that travel through the area daily.
