CRAB ORCHARD, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 2-year-old girl was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital on Friday after her arm became trapped in a corn grinder, according to local officials.

Crab Orchard Fire Chief Larry Owsley told FOX 56 that the incident happened around 9 a.m. on Feb. 13 in Lincoln County.
The child’s right arm, from the shoulder down, became caught in the power take-off (PTO) component of the grinder, which connects the machine to a tractor.
Emergency crews responded and transported the girl by helicopter to the UK Hospital with part of the machinery still attached to her arm.

Officials said the child is expected to lose a finger and suffered injuries to her thumb and arm. Owsley said that she is in stable condition…
