Dozens gather for third annual Coastal Coffee Fest, benefitting local non-profit

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – For the last three years, Coastal Coffee Fest has been an event aimed at bringing the local coffee community together. But this year, the reason behind the event shifted, focusing on supporting a local non-profit.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, dozens of coffee lovers throughout the Grand Strand circled through the event, exploring nine local roasters:

  • Beach Hippie Coffee, Myrtle Beach
  • Be Known Coffee, Little River
  • Benjamin’s Bakery, Cafe and Coffee Roasters, Surfside Beach
  • Bush Hill Coffee Co.
  • Charleston Coffee Roasters, Charleston
  • Grand Strand Coffee, Myrtle Beach
  • Knowledge Perk Coffee Company, Rock Hill
  • Liberty Brew Coffee, Horry County
  • Tidal Creek Brewhouse, Myrtle Beach

Each roaster offered a sample of their best coffee, looking to wow the public.

“Each one of them has a tasting for best hot coffee and best cold brew coffee,” said event organizer Nick Spinelli. “So you just have a little friendly competition. Everyone who comes in gets to place their vote. When people come in, they’re supporting all these different coffee roasters in the room, and they’re supporting a charity that actually makes an impact on the community they live in.”…
