ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Veterans are set to receive some extra Valentine’s Day wishes this weekend, thanks to the efforts of students across New York state.
Making cards, an activity that takes just a few minutes, could end up making someone’s entire year.
“The cards themselves will boost the client’s morale, incorporate their connectedness with the community and provide a sense of being remembered,” Veterans Outreach Center behavioral health manager Mark McCloskey said. “Especially with our Vietnam vets who didn’t have that positive comeback. So having that connection to the community again is very beneficial.”…
