••• Longtime Carpinteria favorite The Food Liaison announced that it will “most likely be closing our cafe” after February 20. Owner Nirasha Rodriguez elaborated: “We will be putting it up for sale ASAP. But in the meantime, we will be offering corporate and private catering. Also opening our multiple kitchens to the community for use like pop-ups, community usage, cooking classes, and event spaces.”
••• Finally, signs of life for the Chick-fil-A at 4765 Calle Real: the project has been scheduled for a County Planning Commission hearing on March 25.
••• One of my favorite memories of Amsterdam is eating stroopwafels hot off the iron. I haven’t tried the ones from Stroop Haus, a new stroopwafel cart that can be hired for events, but I look forward to it. If your only experience with stroopwafels is packaged ones from Starbucks or something, you’re surely in for a treat.
