Vehicle ID’d by license plate reader in N.J. hit-and-run with life-threatening injuries

A pedestrian was seriously injured near a Gloucester County intersection Sunday morning by driver who fled the scene but whose vehicle was later identified by a licence plate reader, police said.

The incident occurred at 4:34 a.m. on the Black Horse Pike, also known as State Highway 42, in Washington Township, Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik said in a statement.
