Corpus Christi, Texas – A spike in fire danger will grip South Texas by noon Sunday, with humidity dropping to 20% and wind gusts reaching 20 mph — conditions that can spark and spread brush fires near major corridors like I-37, US-77 and TX-44 within minutes.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, a Fire Danger Statement remains in effect from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday for the Coastal Plains and Eastern Brush Country, including Nueces, Kleberg, Jim Wells, Bee and Live Oak counties.
