Construction starts on 237-unit downtown Phoenix affordable housing project

PHOENIX — Construction has begun on a 237-unit affordable housing community in downtown Phoenix, which will offer living spaces from studios to three-bedroom homes.

The housing complex, which is called The Moreland, will be located at Moreland and Third streets. It will be constructed in two phases, with 132 units to be installed in Phase 1 by approximately December 2027, according to a Thursday press release.

Prospective residents can expect amenities such as spaces designed for teen and youth, multiple fitness centers and various onsite supportive services for academics, health and wellness coaching, financial education and more…
