Phenix City records 1st homicide of 2026 after woman found shot

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) – Phenix City authorities are investigating the city’s first homicide of 2026 after a woman was shot and killed Sunday night.

According to the Russell County Coroner’s Office, 52-year-old Contina Robinson was shot at a home on 103 17th Avenue South. She was pronounced dead on the scene around 11:50 p.m. Sunday.

Robinson’s body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy…
