Last week Monday evening, I went to the postal station about 9 p.m. I retrieved my mail and as I was going back to my car. I lost my balance and landed in my back and hit my head pretty hard. It was bleeding a lot. Fortunately, I had some tissues in my pocket and made a compress. I was unable to move. I was able to get my cell phone out of my pocket and called my wife. I also called 911 to request emergency services They arrived in about 10 minutes. They got me up and transported me to the emergency room. ER did a CT scan. Fortunately, there was no internal bleeding. It appears that I had a minor concussion.
The point I’m making is the importance of ALWAYS carrying your cell phone, no matter where you go. Be it another room in the house, garage or patio or literally anywhere.
In my case I was so fortunate to have had my cell phone with me and was able to call for help. Had I not, who knows how long I would have laid at a dark mail station at 9 p.m. at night before someone would have found me…
