Philly parking garage floods, leaving cars in knee-deep water on Valentine’s Day

Water began spewing out into a parking garage at 16th and Callowhill in Philadelphia on Saturday night, causing knee-deep flooding as people’s cars remained parked inside.

NBC10 was on the scene to see the Valentine’s Day mishap. Take a look:

One of the car owners impacted, Klark Johnson, said the water had been flowing for at least three hours.

While NBC10 was still on the scene, Johnson went to go get his car out of the flood waters.

When Johnson, who was in Philly to visit his girlfriend this weekend, got his Kia Forte out of the floodwaters, he showed NBC10 that water had gotten inside his car.

“I thought I would be really safe parking it in a garage,” Johnson said. “But, unfortunately, my car got submerged under water.”…
