Heavy snow and rain expected to hit Northern California, travel impacts likely

(FOX40.COM) — After a couple of days of spring-like weather in the Sacramento area, a storm system is heading to Northern California with widespread rain, gusty winds and heavy mountain snow, according to the National Weather Service in Sacramento.• Video above: Feb. 15, 10 p.m. FOX40’s weather forecast

The system, described by the NWS as the coldest of the season, is forecasted to make its way to Northern California later Sunday and continue through the week. NWS said that snow levels are dropping into lower elevations and rain is affecting the Sacramento area.

NWS announced on Sunday a Wind Advisory that will be in effect starting Monday morning and lasting until Wednesday night. South winds will be coming in at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph…
