REPORT: Garlock workers walk off job in Palmyra

Picket signs lined the gates of Garlock’s Palmyra facility Monday morning, as workers launched a strike, according to RochesterFirst.

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 588 organized the walkout. They’re pushing for higher wages, stronger retirement benefits, safer conditions, and lower healthcare costs. Workers said they’ll rotate shifts outside the Division Street plant and noted their last strike in 2021 lasted four days.
