Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Amtrak Train in Santa Barbara; Third Incident This Month

A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a passing Amtrak train in Santa Barbara on Friday. This is the third time a pedestrian has been struck by a train in Santa Barbara this month.

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 5:48 PM, officers from the Santa Barbara Police Department were dispatched to the area of the 1800 block of East Cabrillo Boulevard for a report of a pedestrian struck by an Amtrak train.

Santa Barbara Police officers, along with Santa Barbara City Fire Department personnel and paramedics, responded to the scene and located an unidentified adult male pedestrian suffering from significant traumatic injuries on the south side of the train tracks…
