Love is in the air: Local shops see last-minute Valentine’s Day rush

STATELINE, Ill. (WIFR) – From pink and red bouquets to boxes of cupcakes, local businesses across Rockford stayed busy this Valentine’s Day as shoppers stopped in to find the perfect last-minute gift.

At Cherry Blossom Florist, preparation for the holiday started well before February 14.

“We start out probably a month to a month and a half before,” said Bella Kinder, a family member and staff member at the shop. “It’s a lot of preparation.”
