Man who died at Flint-area scrapyard was RJ Torching contractor

GENESEE TWP, MI — Police say the 53-year-old laborer who died on the job last week in Genesee Township was a Chelsea-based contractor working for RJ Torching, a Dort Highway scrapyard.

Neither police nor the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration have released the name of the worker who died in the incident, but township police Lt. Matthew Allen identified him as the owner-operator of M&J Dirtworks of Chelsea.
