Boston department store closure to result in 73 layoffs

The closure of a decades-old department store in the heart of Boston will result in the layoff of 73 employees, according to documents filed with the state.

The Neiman Marcus at Copley Place will be redeveloped to make way for new luxury retail stores, an Italian food market and a high-end Greek restaurant, Simon Malls, the company that runs the mall, announced last week.
