Charlotte tow truck driver ordered to pay back $30K for ‘unlawful, overpriced’ tows

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson on Monday announced a judgement in what he called the state’s first ever discriminatory towing case.

The tow truck driver in question, David Satterfield, has been the subject of numerous WBTV investigations for years.

The state attorney general’s office announced Monday, Feb. 16 that Satterfield’s customers whose vehicles were unlawfully towed, or who were required to pay excessive prices to get their vehicles back, will receive restitution totaling a combined $30,000. That $30,000 will be split up among the people affected…
