CLEVELAND, Ohio — A long-troubled department in Cleveland City Hall will get new leadership in the coming weeks, city officials say, after losing $3.3 million meant for cleaning lead out of homes and shedding much of its senior staff last year.
Chief of Integrated Development Tom McNair said Cleveland is in the final stages of hiring a new Community Development director, a role he described as central to stabilizing the department.
McNair said he expects the hire to be announced within the next few weeks. He told City Council that finding the right person will be a “big piece of the puzzle.”…
