LUTZ, Fla. – A massive column of smoke dominated the Lutz skyline Monday afternoon as Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled a stubborn two-alarm blaze that pushed local firefighting resources to their limits.
The emergency began at approximately 4:34 PM when a flurry of 911 calls alerted dispatchers to a fire at 3615 Berger Road. First responders could see the dark smoke from miles away, prompting an immediate “working fire” declaration before they even turned onto the street. Upon arrival, crews found a garage fully engulfed in heavy flames, with the fire already snaking its way into the home’s attic.
