Jury deliberations begin in UGA law student cold case murder

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Jury deliberations began Monday afternoon in the trial of a man accused of killing a University of Georgia law student more than 20 years ago.

Edrick Faust stands accused of killing 23-year-old Tara Baker. The 2001 case went cold until 2024, when police said DNA evidence led to Faust’s arrest.

Jurors returned at 12:30 p.m. Monday to begin deliberations. They went home for the night around 8 p.m. They will resume deliberations at 9 a.m. Tuesday…
