NORTH CAROLINA, USA — A statewide vehicle and equipment theft ring has been dismantled following a multi-agency investigation, authorities said.
The investigation began in October 2025 after the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office asked the NC State Bureau of Investigation for help investigating the theft of several skid steers from Bobcat of Asheboro. As the case expanded, the Raleigh Police Department’s Auto Theft Unit linked the thefts to a Triangle-based criminal group.
