LOWER PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Police in Dauphin County are warning citizens about a fake message circulating on social media.
The Lower Paxton Township Police Department announced that a message claiming that people are going door-to-door handing out toxic masks and asking people to try them on is fake.
The warning claimed to be from an apartment complex in Dauphin County, alerting people that the masks are doused with chemicals that would “knock you out cold,” so that the people trying to sell them can rob you.
Police say this message was AI-generated and is completely false…
