Knoxville police arrest fugitive, seize drugs amid investigation into 2 overdose deaths

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — A man long sought by the Knoxville Police Department for violating probation in a drug case is back in custody following a search of his home that turned up cocaine and crack cocaine.

Authorities are also looking into two overdose deaths that may be linked to Gordon Wayne Davis, 34.

While searching Davis’s Augusta Avenue home Friday, police found 3.5 ounces of powder cocaine, 4 ounces of crack cocaine, 2.5 pounds of marijuana, psylocibin mushroom bars, $3,745 in cash and a handgun among other items, the Knoxville Police Department said in a release Monday…
