The long holiday weekend has been quite nice across New England, with temperatures reaching above freezing. Tuesday features plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the mid-30s to near 40. Wind will be negligible for any activities taking place during school break. If you’re sledding, cross-country skiing, or even going downhill, you can expect little to no wind.

Keep in mind, we have now transitioned from mid-winter to late winter. This is the time when the days often result in more melting of snow and ice with a refreezing at night. Although not widespread, the sides of the roads where the snow melts during the day can have some ice in the mornings. It actually looks like temperatures will be too warm for much in the way of snow, so we’re going to start this one as rain. As cold air arrives toward morning, some of that rain may transition to snow, but little to no accumulation is expected.

It’s a return to a blend of clouds and sunshine on Thursday, with temperatures once again in the mid-30s to near 40 degrees…
