‘Looking twice can save a life.’ | Motorcyclist’s wife reminds drivers & bikers to stay safe after fatal crash

GEISMAR — A 28-year-old Carville man died in an early morning motorcycle crash on LA 30, east of LA 73 on Feb. 6. He leaves behind a wife and 1-year-old son.

Craig Burns died of his injuries from a crash on LA 30. His wife, Kelsi Burns, said he was on his way to work when another vehicle pulled out from a private road in front of Burns. Unable to stop in time, Burns’ motorcycle crashed into the car, according to State Police.

Kelsi told UWK her husband was a “very loving and caring” man, someone she’d been with for 10 years altogether. They married in 2023, she added.

“He had just become a father, and we have a one-year-old son, Craig, Jr.,” Kelsi said. “He was very, very excited and had lots of dreams and hopes for fatherhood and things he wanted to do with Craig Jr.”…
