New details revealed in El Paso DWI suspect fatal wrong-way I-10 crash

A woman accused of being intoxicated believed she was on a different freeway during a deadly wrong-way, head-on crash on Interstate 10 in West El Paso, a prosecutor said.

Britney Ibigail Torres, 25, faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle in connection with the collision that killed Jesus Chico Jr., 25, on the night of Feb. 3 on I-10 West near North Mesa Street.

Torres allegedly admitted to El Paso police officers that she had been drinking liquor shots, according to a criminal complaint affidavit obtained by the El Paso Times
